COVID-19 Update: March 18, 2020

Dear Phillips & Schmitt Patients,

As of today, March 18th, we have made the conscious decision to close the office as recommended by the ADA and CDC. You can trust that this decision was not made lightly, but after much deliberation and a responsibility we feel as healthcare providers to aid in slowing the spread of COVID-19, we know that this is best. We make this decision with our patients, employees and community’s health best interest in mind.

Elective and non-emergent services will be postponed for at least 30 days per the guidance of the CDC and ADA. As we continue to receive information from these professional organizations, we will update you all.

During this time, we will continue to monitor our phones and triage calls. If you have an appointment scheduled during this time, our admin team will reach out to reschedule once back in office. Do not be concerned if you cannot reach us during this time as we will actively be checking messages and updating you all with any changes to our schedule.

We will be available for dental emergencies during this time and our voice mailbox will be open for dental emergency calls. We ask that you please limit voice messages to emergencies ONLY. Please consider the following a dental emergency:

  • Pain that cannot be relieved by over-the-counter medication
  • Swelling around the teeth or face
  • Fever that is a direct result of tooth/gum infection
  • Excessive bleeding from the gums or around the teeth
  • Shifting, movement or broken provisional crown or temp bridge

All calls will be thoroughly triaged before making the decision to schedule an appointment with our emergency staff. Please understand that we must be thorough in our emergency process at this time.

Please know that our Phillips & Schmitt employees are being taken care of throughout this process as well. We are very proud of our team for how well they have managed these unexpected circumstances. Our employees are very important to us and will stick together during this difficult time.

We have always kept our patient’s health a top priority and want you to know that all of these steps are being taken with your best interest in mind. Thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation during this time. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all once safe to do so.

We wish everyone well during this time.

Thank you,

Dr. Schmitt, Dr. Phillips & The Phillips & Schmitt Team
